THORPE LEA SCHOOL SPORTS
AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
We are delighted to announce that our PE curriculum will continue to be delivered by Sports4Kids. Each class will receive two hours of Physical Education delivered by our qualified and dedicated sports coaches Marie Willoughby and James Collins. The team deliver a variety of sports and activities to all pupils during the school year, incorporating a range of skills to improve performance and coordination which are then applied during a series of internal games and competitions.
Our coaches Marie and James are regular faces in and around school, including the running of a series of afterschool clubs and activities.
Despite being a small school, Thorpe Lea take part regularly in a range of sporting fixtures and tournaments across Surrey. During the past year, our pupils have represented the School in Football, Netball, Athletics, Dodgeball, Golf and Athletics. Although our results have been mixed, no one can ever doubt the commitment and application of all pupils who have taken part.

YEAR 6 FAREWELL FIXTURE V HYTHE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Our year boys put on the school kit for one final time in our final football fixture of the season. Although the match was a special event for all involved, it was a particularly magical moment for our departing superstar Lloyd who made his long awaited debut for the school. As if written in the stars, our ecstatic debutant scored a thunderous goal in front of a large crowd after only three minutes to ensure a dream debut. In an entertaining match, the boys ran out comfortably 5-3 winners against a spirited Hythe team who contributed significantly to a great afternoon. The boys can be proud of their efforts this year, coming second in the small schools league.
After several postponements, Thorpe Lea finally enjoyed its annual Sports Day and what a great day it turned out to be! With the whole school taking part in both athletic races and team activities spread across the whole day, the competition for the house cups was fierce and feisty. Once again, the pupils demonstrated fantastic commitment and sportsmanship throughout the day and it contributed to a competitive but enjoyable day for all. Both cups went to the wire, with Langton house edging out King John for the Key Stage 1 cup and Fitz Walter piping Pope House to the Key Stage 2 cup.
A special mention goes to all parents, carers, guardians and siblings who came along to support the school throughout the day.
