A big, warm welcome to the 'Special Educational Needs' section of our website. This section contains contact information, details of the forthcoming SEN events, useful contacts and details of activities, strategies and meetings which may be of interest.

Who can support?
For most enquiries and/or to discuss any concerns or questions you may have, please contact your child's class teacher in the first instance. Usually, this is the best way to find out about your child on a day-to-day basis. Following this, Miss McRae, our SENCO can be contacted by arranging a meeting at the office or by leaving a voicemail message on the school answer phone using Ext 4.

SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator)

If your child needs additional support outside of Quality First Teaching, they will be referred to the school SENCO, Miss McRae.

Miss McRae started at Thorpe Lea Primary School and Nursery over six years ago and as a result, has taught a great deal of children in the school. Miss McRae has been Thorpe Lea's SENCO for two years and has recently completed the masters equivalent qualification, 'The National Awards for Special Educational Needs Coordinators'. Miss McRae, alongside her SENCO role, is one of our Assistant Headteachers, Deputy Safeguarding Officer, EYFS and Key Stage One Leader and Literacy Co-Ordinator across the school.
