Week 1 and 2: The Gingerbread Man

This week the children have been welcomed back with a BANG as our WOW day was on looking at Traditional Tales story The Gingerbread Man. The children decorated gingerbread men, created gingerbread men out of playdough and crafts, they also loved creating wanted posters to find the culprit who ATE THE GINGERBREAD MAN, they think Mr. Collin did it!! Week 2 and 3 - The Three Billy Goats Gruff

This week, the children have been learning about our new story 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff.'

as part of our topic: Traditional Tales.

We have enjoyed reading the story as a class as well as re-telling the story during busy learning in both our small world area with animals and in our topic area with masks. We have also been working hard in maths learning about positional language. The children also enjoyed making toast this week and practised spreading butter and jam on their toast! Yum!!!

Jack and the Beanstalk

This week at nursery, the children are learning all about the traditional tale - Jack and the Beanstalk. The children enjoyed listening to the story and discussing whether Jack made the right choice by taking the things from giant’s castle. The children then went on a magic bean and golden egg hunt! They also enjoyed making beanstalk out of crafts, measuring beanstalk and using play dough to create tall beanstalks. In Maths, the children focused on counting from 0-10 and accurately matching objects to the correct number. Please see Tapestry for pictures.
