TOPIC

This week's foundation tasks are combining Art with a little bit of English.

Main task:

This week, I would like you to have a go at making your own comic strip.

Think about what story it would tell. How would it grab the attention of the reader?

Possible subjects:

Superhero

Comedy

Fantasy

Drama

Thriller

Spy

Adventure

Mystery

Sci-Fi

Who would your character be?

What roles do they hold in your story?

What do they look like? (clothes, hair, eye colour)

What hobbies do they have?

Where are they from? (Earth, another planet or another dimension)

  1. Plan out your story to begin with, thinking about the story mountain.
  2. How does the story begin? - How do you introduce the characters and setting?
  3. What is the problem that your characters face?
  4. How does the dilemma develop? What are the character's reactions?
  5. What is the resolution to the problem? How is it solved?
  6. What will be the ending of your story?

Don't forget to spread this research across the week, don't just do them on Monday.

Here is an example of a Comic Strip template you can use, or draw your own out (think about page layout if you do).
