Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, our school has had to close. To ensure children are still able to access work from home, we will be putting up work for the children to complete each day in their home learning books that were sent home before school closure.
Each day, the children will be set an English task and a Maths task. The children will be used to being able to choose a challenge with our Red, Amber and Green challenges at school and it will be up to them as to what difficulty they would like to attempt; Red= least difficult- Green= Most difficult. For the English task it may be a reading comprehension, we do not expect your child to be able to read all the words without support; we want them to begin to answer questions about what they have read/heard so please do support them with sounding out if they get stuck!
As well as these worksheets, we would still like the children to be reading at least 5 times a week and practising their times tables. You can either practise your times tables on Times Tables Rock Stars or download one of the Times Tables sheets from the documents below.
If you are not able to print out these worksheets, please try your best to copy down the questions into your workbook and answer them from there.
All of the worksheets have answers attached which can be used to mark and check your work when you have finished!
Stay safe and enjoy your learning!
If you have any questions regarding the home learning please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Welcome to Year 2!
Spellings will go out on a Thursday and spelling tests will be the following Wednesday. Please keep the Spelling book at home until Wednesday so they children can learn their spellings over the weekend. The book that is sent home is also the book the children do their spelling test in. Therefore, that book must be in school every Wednesday!
Children are expected to read every night. Please record this in the children's reading records so this can be checked by a Year 2 adult. Reading books are changed once a week; please check the rota in Year 2 to check what day your child's book should be changed. Please note, they will only be changed if it has been written in their reading record that they have read the books.
Our PE days this year are Mondays: Indoors and Wednesday: Outdoors. Please label all clothes and shoes.
If you have any questions or concerns at any point please do not hesitate to speak to me at the beginning or end of the day. I believe a big part of your child's success is a result of strong school-home links and communication.
