Welcome to our Year 6 Class Page
It has been lovely to welcome the children back to school after the summer break. We are really looking forward to the term ahead as we have lots of exciting learning activities planned.
In our class, we believe that learning is an exciting adventure full of opportunities to grow and explore. In Year 6, we embrace creativity, collaboration, courage, and respect in everything we do.
Subject Overview 25-26
Homework
Spellings - Weekly spellings will be tested every Monday. These spellings can be found on Purple Mash. There are online activities to help the children learn these key spelling strategies.
Reading - Daily reading to be recorded in the reading records.
Times Tables - It would really benefit the children to regularly practise their times tables up to 12 x 12. Login to Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) to recall the times tables at a fast pace!
1 x piece of English and 1 x piece of maths homework will be set every Friday using the online programme LbQ (Learning by Question). The children will be provided with the login details. This homework is due in, the following Friday.
If any pupil is missing or has forgotten any of the logins, please contact Mr Turner or Mrs Fulker and they will provide this information.
SATs 25/26
KS2 SATs 2026 will take place from Monday 11 May to Thursday 14 May 2026. Like in previous years, the SATs will assess reading, writing and maths for Year 6 pupils in England.
PE
We have PE on Mondays and Thursdays.
Please send your child in wearing appropriate PE kit on these days.
