Houses
Which house will prevail this year?
How many points will you earn?
Our current house system was introduced in 2016 to reflect the rich history of our local area. Each house is named after a significant person who contributed to the signing of the Magna Carta in 1215, an event which has proved the foundation stone for modern law. How our system works
Every single pupil and member of staff here at Thorpe Lea Primary School have been placed into one of our four houses. Over the course of the academic year, the houses compete against each other for a number of accolades and awards. House points are awarded to pupils by all adults around the school and can be given for a variety of reasons, including excellent manners, fantastic work, friendship and commitment to their learning. Each house will vote for a house captain and a vice-captain, each selected from our respective year 6 pupils. The Thorpe Lea House System has provided the school with some amazing memories over the last few years and we look forward to an even more compelling and competitive year over the next ten months.
Remember: Points means Prizes!
Our four houses will compete for the following:
- Half Termly Award - Extra playtime for winners
- KS1 Sports Day Cup
- KS2 Sports Day Cup
- KS2 Spelling Bee Cup
- Thorpe Lea House Cup
Good Luck to all houses this year!
